Rangers headed back to the top of the Scottish Premier League after beating Dundee United convincingly in the rearranged fixture at Tannadice Park.
Misfit winger DaMarcus Beasley opened the scoring with a memorable strike from the angle of the box.
Striker Kenny Miller doubled the visitors' lead as Rangers took control in the second half.
Miller then put the game beyond United as he slotted the ball home after some fine play by the impressive Beasley.
Both sides appeared keen to get the action under way after the clubs' boardroom ticket row following the abandonment of the initial match between the teams.
The visitors were first to carve out an opportunity when Beasley fired a left-footed drive in from the edge of the box which United goalkeeper Nicky Weaver could only parry, but Miller couldn't reach the rebound.
Veteran Lee McCulloch was next to go close as Rangers began to dominate, rifling a half-volley a foot wide of Weaver's right-hand post.
United claimed for a penalty as Jon Daly went down in the box under a challenge from Sasa Papac, but referee Mike Tumilty was unimpressed.
Garry Kenneth had the ball over the goal-line from the resultant corner, but the whistle had already gone for a push in the box.
But, as the home side seemed to be coming back into the match, a Kirk Broadfoot throw-in was controlled by Beasley before the American winger launched a fabulous looping strike from the angle of the box to beat Weaver and break the deadlock.
The game stretched following the goal and raged from end to end without either side being able to carve out a clear opening.
Kris Boyd appeared to be pushed in the box by United full-back Mihael Kovacevic, but again referee Tumilty waved away the penalty claims.
Daly tried to test Alexander with a low long-range shot, but his effort was straight at the Rangers keeper, who revealed this week that he may consider a move out of Ibrox in search of regular first-team football.
The Irishman had the first real chance of the second period, but he flashed a header from Paul Dixon's corner wide of the mark.
But again, as United appeared to be getting on top, Miller headed in a terrific cross from the industrious Novo to double Rangers' lead.
Darren Dods almost deflected a Madjid Bougherra header into his own net, but Weaver pulled off an acrobatic stop to prevent the defender scoring his fourth own goal of the season.
The visitors were finding plenty of space as United chased the game, and Miller should have done better when he placed an effort well wide of the post from just outside the box.
Craig Levein's side were struggling to get out of their own half, but Prince Buaben blasted an effort over the bar from a tight angle as the Terrors' play became more urgent.

"Let's be honest, Rangers could have been 3-0 up at half-time. We just didn't perform anywhere near the level that we can do.
"It's a wake-up call. We'll need to keep plugging away and see where we are come the end of the season."
